How to Bike for Fun or Transportation--Safely!

The Bicycling Monterey website is an Information Hub for Biking in Monterey County, with resources for children, teens, and adults.

The site offers tips on bike safety, bike laws, where to buy a used or new bike, bicycle security (how to avoid your bike being stolen), where to bike (maps, route tips, group rides, and more), bike community events, high school bike teams (for public, private, and homeschoolers), mountain bike and road bike clubs, night riding, bike-and-ride (taking your bike on an MST bus, Amtrak, etc.), bicycle parking (laws and etiquette), how to advocate for better bike infrastructure, and much more.

Silver Star Referral Form

The Silver Star Resource Center is made up of several Monterey County agencies dedicated to working with youth and families to improve their quality of life and deter young people from gang involvement. The attached referral form can be submitted it to a Resource Center Deputy Probation Officer. Upon receipt of the referral, a Resource Center Deputy Probation Officer will contact the referred family and schedule a needs assessment.

RJP Reintegration Circles Program

Restorative Justice Partners, Inc., a non-profit agency in Marina providing restorative justice services to Monterey County, is offering a Reintegration Circles program for recently incarcerated, newly released individuals to support their successful re-entry and reintegration into our community. The Reintegration Circle process has two broad aims: 

Strengthening Families Program: a nationally recognized program for parents and youth ages 10-14 years.

Help your youth avoid problems with drugs and alchohol and strengthen family communication.  Parents and youth learn skills together while having fun. Strengthening Families Program is a nationally recognized program for parents and youth ages 10-14 years.
