Two locals working for peace to be honored at White House

From KSBW-TV: Salinas city leaders and teens are in Washington D.C. this week as part of an effort to combat youth and gang violence across the country.

Representatives from Boston, Chicago, Detroit, Memphis, San Jose and Salinas met with the U.S. Department of Justice for Tuesday's National Forum On Youth Violence Prevention summit on combating youth crime.

Fernanda Ocana, 19, and Khasandra Ayon, 19, were saluted for preventing youth violence in Salinas. 

On Wednesday, two members of the Salinas delegation - Deputy Police Chief Kelly McMillan and Ocana - will visit the White House to be honored as "Champions of Change."
