News from Partners for Peace: The Parent Project® is a parent training program designed specifically for parents raising difficult or out-of-control adolescent children. The program has a 25-year track record working with parents of high-risk youth and is the largest court mandated juvenile diversion program in the country.

The Parent Project® is a parent training program designed specifi- cally for parents raising difficult or out-of-control adolescent children. The program has a 25-year track record working with parents of high-risk youth and is the largest court mandated juvenile diversion pro- gram in the country.

Thanks to funding from CalGrip, Partners For Peace will offer the 40 hour training to professionals and volunteers in March. This is an incredible opportunity for Salinas. With 35 trained facilitators, Parent Project® classes will be able to offered in diverse locations in English and in Spanish.

The Parent Project® offers par- ents concrete solutions to destructive adolescent behaviors including: family conflict, truancy, drug & alcohol use, poor teen dating relationships, gangs, runaways, violence, and suicide. Parents love the concrete answers & support the program offers.

Results:

  • 33% reduction in juvenile recidivism.
  • 98% drop in school expulsions.
