Baseball great Joe Torre helps kick off Defending Childhood Month

Baseball great Joe Torre recently joined Bob Listenbee, the new administrator of the federal Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP), in launching Defending Childhood Month.

The goal is to draw attention to the critical importance of reducing childhood exposure to violence. It's tied into the work of the Justice Department's Defending Childhood Task Force, which includes CASP's own Georgina Mendoza, the Community Safety Director for the City of Salinas.
