For example, did you know that one of the most powerful things you can do is simply to organize a neighborhood block party? When people in a neighborhood know each other, that neighborhood is safer.

Here are just a few ideas for how you make a difference, starting now:

  • Organize a block party
  • Organize a neighborhood clean-up
  • Start a children's reading group
  • Identify and fix a neighborhood problem (such as a streetlight)
  • Help a neighbor in need
